Our Bandol Rosé 2015 Awarded “Best in Show” at the Decanter World Wine Awards
It is with immense pride that we share this news: our Bandol Rosé 2015 has received the highest distinction at the renowned Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA)—the Platinum Medal “Best in Show”, along with an outstanding score of 96/100.
A globally renowned competition
The Decanter World Wine Awards are recognized as the world’s largest and most influential wine competition. Known for its independence and high standards, the DWWA brings together 240 international wine experts—including sommeliers, critics, journalists, and oenologists—who blind-taste over 15,000 wines from across the globe.
Wines are rated and awarded medals according to the following scale:
-
83–85: Acceptable wine
-
86–89: Bronze medal – Pleasant wine
-
90–94: Silver medal – Accomplished and complex wine
-
95–100: Gold medal – Excellent wine with great complexity and character
All Gold medal winners are re-tasted to determine Platinum medals, awarded to the best wines in each category. Then, all Platinum wines are evaluated again to award the ultimate accolade: “Best in Show”.
A rare honour for a rosé
Among 644 rosé wines that received awards in 2015, only two were named “Best in Show”, including our Château Canadel Bandol Rosé 2015. This rare recognition highlights the excellence of our terroir, the precision of our winemaking, and the beauty of this vintage.
A truly exceptional rosé
Our Bandol Rosé 2015 shines with a delicate pale pink hue and subtle orange reflections. The nose is expressive and powerful, with aromas of white fruits, citrus, and exotic fruit. On the palate, it is elegant and generous, unveiling notes of spices and tropical fruits, lifted by a refined saline touch. The long, fresh finish is both vibrant and delicious.
This is a great rosé for cellaring—refined, structured, and full of energy—reflecting the full expression of the Bandol appellation and the expertise of Château Canadel.
